Minden Public Schools Board of Education
Seeks Community Input
The Minden Public Schools Board of Education recently accepted the resignation of Dr. Scott Maline, Superintendent of Schools. We are grateful for Dr. Maline’s service to the Minden Public Schools and wish him well in his future endeavors.
The Board of Education is working diligently to prepare for hiring a quality superintendent to replace Dr. Maline. Hiring a superintendent is one of the most important endeavors a board must face; therefore, we will approach this task with fervent attention to each vital detail necessary to ensure a rewarding and successful search. It is our goal to hire a quality and competent superintendent to lead the district forward in the years to come.
As the board plans for the hiring, we value and seek the input of patrons, parents, students, staff and administrators. The Nebraska Association of School Boards is assisting the board in the superintendent search, and has scheduled a visit to our community on Monday, February 11, 2008. The board wishes to extend an invitation to the parents and community members to participate in this visit to share their personal thoughts about the district and the superintendent position. You will be asked to suggest what skills, qualities, or characteristics the candidate might possess in order to be successful in his or her role as superintendent and your views about the positive features of the school district. We are providing two opportunities for the parent and community members to participate in the visit.
The first session will be held in the high school media center beginning at 12:00 p.m. and should conclude by 1:00 p.m.
The evening session will be held in the high school band room beginning at 7:00 p.m. and concluding by 8:00 p.m.
Please feel free to attend either session.
In the event you are unable to attend the parent and community member visit, please feel free to share your comments to the following questions:
- What are the strengths of the Minden Public Schools?
- What challenges will the district face in the near future?
- What skills and/or characteristics do you feel are necessary for this individual to be successful in the Minden School District?
