The Granny Awards

March 27, 2008
On Tuesday evening, February 26, East Elementary’s 2nd and 3rd graders performed their musical “The Granny Awards” on the stage at Minden High School. A spin-off of “The Grammy Awards,” this ‘live results show’ was sponsored by Granny (from Little Red Riding Hood), in honor of her retirement after 80 years in show-biz.
All of the stars, famous nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters, were hoping to earn an award for their outstanding performances, but the Big Bad Wolf decided to take matters into his own hands and kept trying to steal the trophies! With special appearances from all of the well-known nursery rhyme and fairy tale characters, it was a fun evening for the whole family! “The Granny Awards” was directed by Lori Schluntz.
