MPS enters into Title IX agreement

Minneapolis Public Schools is committed to ensuring that all our student athletes have equal opportunity in accordance with Title IX, which is aligned with our values of equity and representation. MPS’s voluntary resolution agreement with the U.S. Department of Education, Office of Civil Rights underscores our dedication to transparency and our commitment to improving practices in our interscholastic athletics program. 

We are developing a stakeholder committee, led by MPS Title IX athletics compliance coordinator, to review and revise policies and create ongoing staff training. This voluntary resolution agreement includes a timeline of deliverables and robust reporting structures, along with future reporting structures, to ensure that we implement these changes and increase accountability, while complying with Title IX to improve the experiences of all MPS student athletes, regardless of gender.
