MPS Post-Election Statement
What happens outside of our classrooms and our buildings in the community directly impacts our students, families and staff in a variety of ways. Many are experiencing this impact with this week’s election.
In order for our MPS mission and vision to be realized, we must ensure that our students and staff are physically and emotionally safe and we will do everything in our power to ensure that safety. As a diverse district, equity, representation and anti-racism are essential to the work that we do. MPS values, respects and honors cultural diversity and the many talents and assets that we experience as a result of that diversity.
Thank you to our staff for facilitating healthy and civil spaces. We encourage all members of our community to model kindness, respect and empathy at all times. Every day caregivers send their most precious gifts - their children to us, and we have a responsibility and an obligation to be intentional, careful and respectful of that trust.
We have shared resources with our staff, families and students and will continue to maintain a safe and welcoming learning environment for all of our students.
