MPS supports our community
MPS is with you.
Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) values every member of our community and we are always here for you. We teach our students and expect our staff to welcome, respect and embrace each other. Hate is never acceptable. At MPS, we believe it is always the right time to show your neighbors that we care for and support them. Please join us.
In this moment, we especially want Somali and Latino members of our community to know that you are welcomed, loved and appreciated. Nothing anyone says will ever change that, and yet we know it still hurts to hear hateful and targeted comments.
We know that many different members of our community are living in fear and uncertainty right now. MPS is here to support you. Changes in federal immigration enforcement practices do not impact MPS’ legal responsibility to protect the rights and privacy of our students, staff and families. We will continue to follow MPS protocols, policies and state and federal laws. This website has information and resources to help our community navigate through what’s happening.
