Sad news for Minneapolis community today

Dear MPS Community:

I am deeply saddened by the tragedy at Annunciation Catholic Church and School today. All of our hearts here at Minneapolis Public Schools (MPS) are with the Annunciation community during this time of enormous loss and unimaginable tragedy. Schools should be safe havens for students, staff and families. Today, we’d like to focus on sharing some MPS resources to support our community:

• Staff who may be feeling overwhelmed or in need of support are encouraged to connect with their supervisors or reach out to our Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

• Students or families who may need support can connect with our counselors, social workers, mental health staff or any trusted adult. They can also utilize the HelpMe App to share information. 

MPS shares the grief of our neighbors and colleagues during this time and remains committed to supporting our community. As part of annual back to school communications, we will share safety reminders next week.
