School staffing update amid enrollment adjustments

Each year, MPS makes staffing adjustments to ensure that schools have staffing levels based on actual attendance. While most of our projections were mostly accurate, enrollment within MPS is not stabilized until the third or fourth week of school. 100% of grades K-10 have current enrollments within 10% of projections and 92% are within 5% of projections. 

We are excited to see the lowest staff vacancy rate -- around 3% -- indicating that most of our buildings started the year fully staffed. Enrollment will continue to be monitored closely for the rest of the year. If your school or child’s class is impacted by staffing adjustments, you should have already received communication from your child’s school. If you have any questions, please contact your school.
