Statement from MPS on recent community events

At this time and always, Minneapolis Public Schools calls on everyone to center and think of the children. Our community is resilient and connected, but we are also tired, scared, angry and sad. Each day we hear our students’ demands for a more just, peaceful and caring world, and we join their call. The current reality is not sustainable and it is not good for our children.

Our hearts and thoughts are with all those who are experiencing loss and grief and those who have had their lives disrupted, especially after another tragic death. 

Your public schools are here for our students and families. We will continue working closely with our partners, including the City of Minneapolis, to ensure our schools are the safe and supportive places that students need.
