Update on the Feb. 10, 2026 MPS School Board Regular Business Meeting

Monthly MPS School Board meetings are a good source of information about the direction of MPS. We hope you find this brief overview of key meeting items helpful.

Chair Collin Beachy opened the meeting acknowledging the continued stress, trauma and pain our students, families and staff have experienced and reaffirmed that every person in the MPS community belongs here.

Welcome 2026 Student Board Representatives

Chair Beachy congratulated and gave a warm welcome to our new 2026 Student Board Representatives: South High School's Boisey Corvah and North High School’s Zion Webster.

Reports and Recommendations from the Superintendent

Superintendent Dr. Lisa Sayles-Adams began her remarks with a message to the MPS community:

  • The superintendent thanked staff, families and community for showing up for each other during this time when many are experiencing fear, stress and hardship. MPS is a place where every person belongs, where everyone should feel welcomed and supported. To our students and community: MPS is still with you and we always will be.
  • If any families are in immediate need of assistance, they should contact their school. Internet hotspots and food support from Every Meal are available for those who need it.
