Still true to their school: Edison class of ‘49 celebrates 75th class reunion
The girls wore ankle-length dresses and boys sported crew cuts and double-breasted suits.
Girls and boys sat on opposite sides of the lunchroom, but came together after school over weiner roasts in the crisp fall air. “Mule Train” or “Mona Lisa” drifted out from the radio.
That’s how Edison’s class of 1949 recalled senior year when they met in October for their 75th class reunion–the first 75th reunion in Edison’s history. About 20 alums from 1949 gathered to share memories over lunch, meet current students and, naturally, sing the “Blue and Gold” fight song.
Pat Hennen Myklebust recalled Edison as a friendly high school, where the people made it easy to feel at home. When asked what being a Tommie means, Myklebust didn’t miss a beat. “It means forever,” she said.
