Early Admission to Kindergarten
Some families may feel their child is ready to start kindergarten earlier than the age determined by State Law. While MPS does not typically recommend beginning kindergarten prior to age 5, we do offer an evaluation process to determine eligibility based on social and academic levels of each child that requests early admission. We suggest reviewing the High Five Grade Level Expectations for guidance.
Eligibility
- The child must turn 5 years old between Sept 2 and Oct 31.
- Early Childhood Screening (clear pass). Please contact Early Childhood Screening to schedule an appointment 612.668.3715.
