MFT ESPs presented four proposals during this week’s bargaining session:
- Proposal 1: Access to Members and Data Proposal added clarifying language about the type of contact information MFT is seeking for new hires, weekly reports related including action type, classification, weekly target hours, etc. and how they’d like to receive this information. This proposal was initially presented at the Nov. 3 session.
- Proposal 2: Longevity Stipend requests lump sum payments at 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30 years of service with employees who reach 30 years of service receiving an annual $5,000 longevity stipend. The proposal recommends initial stipends to be paid in Fall of 2023 based on years of experience prior to July 1, 2023. Employees would need to work a minimum of 90 calendar days during that school year for their year of experience to count, calculated as of July 1 of each year.
- Proposal 3: Wages and Salary Proposal includes an updated schedule of hourly wages for employees with Group A - Step 1 at $34.10 and Group C: Step 6 starting at $36.59.
- Proposal 4: Automatic Step Movement includes automatic annual step advancement of one step for eligible employees on July 1. Eligible employees would need to have been actively employed for 150 calendar days or more of the previous year. Currently, step movements are negotiated during bargaining with the agreed upon adjustments made as contracted.
Digital copies of the proposals will be available as soon as we receive them.
The agenda for the next session will include MFT proposals about floating holidays, forecast letter and vacation accruals. The next bargaining session will be Jan. 3, 2024.
