Understanding Teacher Roles within Google Classroom

  • The primary teacher is the teacher who created the Google Classroom.
    • Only the primary teacher can add co-teachers.
    • Only the primary teacher can opt-out of using Classwork for a class.
    • Only the primary teacher can delete a class.
    • The primary teacher cannot be removed or unenrolled.
    • The primary teacher owns the class Google Drive folder.

 

  • Co-Teachers are invited to a Google Classroom to join the class and help coordinate activities.
    • Co-teachers have access to the class Google Drive folder.
    • Co-teachers can archive classes.

 

  • Teachers can't be muted.
