Google Meet is an online tool used for video meetings from a smartphone, computer, tablet, or iPad. In order to join a Google Meet, staff and students must login with their MPS email address and password.
The maximum number of participants per meeting is 500.

Join a Google Meet
JOIN A GOOGLE MEET HAPPENING NOW
If you received an email with the subject line: “[EXTERNAL] Happening Now: [Name of Meeting Organizer] is inviting you to a video meeting”:

Click Join Meeting

You may be asked to turn your camera and microphone on—click Allow

Click Join now
JOIN A GOOGLE MEET WITH A NICKNAME
If you were given a meeting nickname:

Go to meet.google.com

Click Join or start a meeting

Enter the nickname

Click Continue

You may be asked to turn your camera and microphone on—click Allow

Click Join now
JOIN A SCHEDULED GOOGLE MEET
If the meeting was created in advance, and you received an invite link:

Click the link to enter the meeting room

You may be asked to turn your camera and microphone on—click Allow

Google Meet has the ability for users to choose the layout view in a Google Meet. The “tiled” option allows you to see up to 49 participants during the Google Meet session.

Make sure you only have one Meet tab open at a time. Close any open browser tabs, windows, or apps that aren’t currently being used.

Turn off any Chrome extensions, especially Google Meet-specific extensions.

Put your device on a flat and elevated surface to prevent your device from overheating. Avoid using your device on the floor or bed for a long period of time.

Change your Meet layout to “Spotlight” view.
If you run into one of the following issues while using Google Meet, you'll want to change your video settings:

Video or audio delays

Poor network connection

Low battery on your device
-
Limited data available through your Internet provider or Mobile Hotspot
