Promethean panels are interactive touch-screen classroom equipment. Promethean panels can act as a whiteboard, an extension of your laptop, a presentation tool, a choice board, and so much more!

The words:

  • panel

  • and "ActivPanel"

...are often used interchangeably in reference to the Promethean touchscreen technology.

Identify Panel Model Type

Due to the large number of classrooms throughout all schools, MPS cannot accommodate a singular model type. Throughout the school year, there's an average of three different types of panels being used across all schools.

Nickel + Cloud Connect

If you recognize the login screen below, you have the newest Promethean panel: the Nickel + Cloud Connect version.

Nickel

If your panel has the Unified Menu with ActivCast, then you have a Nickel (without Cloud Connect) version.

Versions: 4.5, iSeries, 6

If your panel has physical menu buttons on the left side or in the center with a flip panel, you have an older version.

Document Camera

Document cameras are used to display objects or text. Document cameras are compatible with Promethean panels.

Poly Studio Camera

The Poly Studio Camera is classroom equipment designed for virtual conferencing that includes camera and audio capabilities. They're available to a limited number of 6-12 teachers.
